Learn how to manage your MagicMiles account as well as customising various app settings such as language, theme, app icon and trips list.
Managing your MagicMiles account is essential for synchronising your trips across devices and sharing them with friends and family. Here’s how to do it:
When you are logged into iCloud, your MagicMiles account is automatically synced with your iCloud account. This means your trips and preferences are backed up and can be accessed from other Apple devices using the same iCloud account.
However, to synchronise your trips with other devices or to share them with friends and family, you need to create a MagicMiles account. You can do this by going to the Settings menu and tapping the "Synced with iCloud" item, then selecting "Continue with Apple" or "Continue with Google". This will link your MagicMiles data to your chosen account, allowing for seamless sharing and synchronization.
When you first open the MagicMiles app, you will be prompted to create an account. This is done by logging in with your Google or Apple account. This initial step ensures that your trips are always synchronised across your devices and enables you to share your itineraries with others.
Once your account is set up, you can easily manage your profile. To change your profile photo, navigate to Settings and tap your name, then select "Change Photo" to upload a new image.
If you need to sign out, you can do so by tapping "Sign Out" and confirming your decision when prompted. However, if you are logged into iCloud, your data will still sync with iCloud and signing out is not an option. If you decide that you no longer want to use MagicMiles, you can delete your account directly within the app. Check "How to Permanently Delete Your Account" below for more details.
Customising the app settings in MagicMiles helps enhance your user experience. Here’s how to change various settings:
To manage notifications, navigate to "Notifications" in the Settings menu. Here, you can enable or disable push notifications to stay informed about upcoming trips and receive alerts about changes to activities.
To customise how your trips are displayed, go to "Trips List" in the Settings menu. Here, you can adjust the Card Size to either Default or Compact, and enable Archive Automatically to move completed trips to the archive, keeping your trips list organised.
Go to "Navigation" in the Settings menu to adjust location services and select your preferred directions mode. Enable Location Services to discover nearby activities and receive directions directly from the app. Choose from various modes such as Suggested, Transit, Driving, or Walking. Additionally, set the units format to either Metric (kilometers, Celsius) or Imperial (miles, Fahrenheit) based on your preference.
You can customise the app theme by tapping on "Theme" in the Settings menu. Choose from System Default, Light, or Dark themes. The selected theme will be applied the next time you restart the app.
To change the app language, go to the Settings menu and tap on "Language". For Android users, you can directly select your preferred language from the list, and the new language will be applied the next time you restart the app. For iOS users, MagicMiles uses the same language as your device. To change it, tap "Device Settings" and adjust the language settings on your device; MagicMiles will automatically update to match.
MagicMiles allows you to access your trip information even when you don't have internet connectivity. This is particularly useful when traveling to areas with limited or no signal.
Before you go offline, make sure to open the app while you still have internet access. The app will automatically cache the information for offline use. Once your trip information is cached, you can view all the details offline. This includes your activities, maps and other trip-related data.
Read-Only Mode:
All information is visible but not modifiable. You cannot make changes to your trip or activities while offline.
No Real-Time Updates:
Any updates to activity details, transportations, weather, or other dynamic information will not be available until you reconnect to the internet.
To ensure your access remains active and your trip information stays updated, you need to connect to the internet at least once every 7 days. This will refresh your data and allow you to download any updates or changes to your itinerary.

This is a detailed walkthrough on creating, viewing, editing, and removing a trip in MagicMiles.
The starting point for every trip is the Your Trips screen. This is where all your trips are listed.
Starting a New Trip: Tap on the "+" button located at the top right of the screen. A modal will appear, prompting you to enter details about your trip.
Search Destination: Start typing the name of your destination in the search bar. Please note that only city names are supported; states or countries are not. Select the desired destination from the suggestions.
Choose Trip Dates: Tap on the calendar to select your trip's start and end dates. Currently, your trip can be up to 10 days long, but we are working to increase this limit soon.
Customise Your Trip: Select your customisations by tapping or long pressing the items.
Once all details are entered, tap on the "Continue" button and your trip will be created. Each itinerary is custom-built based on your inputs, so please allow up to 5 minutes for the itinerary to be created and all activity details to be retrieved. Feel free to leave the app during this period.
On the Your Trips screen, tap on the trip you want to view. This will open the Trip Details screen, where you can see all the information related to your trip.
To edit the details of your trip, tap the "..." button at the top right corner of the screen. Here you can find options to modify your trip dates and customisations, share your trip with friends and family, add the trip to your calendar or select a new cover photo.
On the Your Trips screen, find the trip you want to delete. You can long press on the trip card or tap the trip to open its details and then tap the "..." button at the top right corner of the screen.
Select "Remove Trip" from the options. You will be asked to confirm your decision. Confirm by tapping "Yes, Remove Trip". The trip will be permanently removed from your list.
Instead of removing a trip, you can archive it to keep a record without cluttering your main list. To archive a trip, follow the same steps as for removing a trip, but select "Archive Trip" instead.
Archived trips are accessible through a button at the bottom of the trips list on the Your Trips screen. Note that archived trips are no longer modifiable and do not receive background updates on activity details like opening hours and reviews. You can always unarchive your trips if needed.
This is an overview of the Trip Details screen and how to navigate its different sections.
When you tap on a trip from the Your Trips screen, you’ll be taken to the Trip Details screen. This is where you can see all the information related to your trip. Here's a breakdown of what you’ll find:
At the top of the screen, you’ll find the trip’s name, destination, and dates. You will also see the trip’s cover photo, which can be customised.
The Trip Details screen is divided into several sections that help you manage your trip effectively:
Itinerary: Lists all the planned activities, transportation, and lodging for your trip. Entries that have scheduled times are automatically placed at the top of the list in chronological order. Everything else appears below and can be freely reordered to fit your preferences. Each entry displays its name, a brief summary, and a category icon for easy recognition.
Map: Shows the locations of your activities on a map, helping you visualise your itinerary as a whole.
Weather: Provides historical weather conditions for your destination during your trip dates. When it’s less than 7 days away, it also includes the actual weather forecast.
Getting Around: Offers information on transportation options in your destination city.
The Map section shows you where all your activities are located. You can filter the map markers by date and show your current location on the map by tapping the location icon at the top right of the map. You can also tap on individual markers for more details about each activity.
To change the trip’s cover photo, tap the "..." button at the top right corner of the screen and select "Change Cover Photo". We partner with Unsplash to provide a curated selection of professional photos, so you only need to choose and tap.
You can share your trip with friends and family by tapping the "..." button and selecting "Share Trip". This allows others to view and collaborate on your itinerary.
If you need to change the order of your activities, open the full itinerary by tapping "See all" and then tap the "..." button at the top right corner. Tap on "Reorder Itinerary" and drag-and-drop the activities to rearrange them. To move an activity to another day, tap to open the activity and update the date individually.
Learn how to view activity details, add new activities, and use various activity features and actions.
Most activities in your trip are automatically created based on your preferences. However, you can still add activities to fully customise your itinerary.
On the Trip Details screen, tap on any activity to view more details.
The information available might vary depending on the activity, but typically includes:
About: Provides a brief summary of the activity.
Location: Displays the full address. When tapping on the map, you will be prompted to choose to open directions in your preferred map app. You can also tap and hold to copy the address to the clipboard.
Contact Information: Tap to call the phone number or visit the website. You can also tap and hold to copy the contact information to the clipboard.
Opening Hours: View the opening hours for the activity. A graph shows the best times to visit based on crowd levels.
Reviews: Read user reviews to get an idea of what to expect from the activity.
Starting a New Activity: On the Trip Details screen, tap the "+" button in the top right corner to add a new activity.
Search Activity: Start typing the name of the activity in the search bar. Select the desired activity from the suggestions.
Choose Date: Tap on the date picker to select the date for the activity.
Confirm: Once you're done, tap "Continue" to add the activity to your trip.
Completing an Activity: To mark an activity as completed, tap on the activity to open its details, then tap "Complete Activity". The activity will be marked as done and will appear slightly faded in the activities list and in the map. You can also tap and hold the activity in the list to access the same menu.
Undoing Activity Completion: If you marked an activity as completed by mistake, open the activity details and tap "Undo Completion" to revert it.
Using Smart Replace: If you would like to replace an activity, you can use the "Smart Replace" feature. This option automatically finds a similar alternative based on your itinerary and preferences. To use this, open the activity details and tap "Smart Replace".
We're sorry to hear that you're considering deleting your account. If you decide that you no longer want to use MagicMiles, you can delete your account directly within the app. Simply go to Settings > Your Name > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data.
